Our Chaplain Horatio Howell Witness Tree Products are made from wood from from one of the two linden trees that stood in front of Christ Church on the south side of the first block of Chambersburg Street at the time of the Battle of Gettysburg.. Where on the afternoon of July 1, 1863 Chaplain Horatio Howell was shot dead at the top step of the church entrance by a confederate soldier that was advancing through the town. Chaplain Howell, a non-combatant, was unarmed but in uniform. The church as serving as a field hospital.
