As the holidays approach, many of us search for gifts that are meaningful, memorable, and rooted in something deeper than fleeting trends. That’s where Gettysburg Sentinels’ Gift Sets shine, combining craftsmanship, history, and heart in every box.
Each Gift Set brings together handcrafted items made from authentic battlefield and witness trees from Gettysburg. Every piece carries the story of a tree that once stood on sacred ground. These aren’t just objects. They’re tangible connections to one of the most pivotal chapters in American history and perfect for anyone who cherishes legacy, heritage, or the stories hidden in the land beneath their feet.
Gift Sets also make sharing that history with loved ones effortless, which is why they’re one of our most popular holiday offerings.
Here are a few reasons our Gift Sets stand out:
Complete, ready-to-give packages: Everything is curated and boxed, so they arrive presentation-ready—a thoughtful, elegant surprise under the tree.
History you can hold: Made from trees that witnessed the Battle of Gettysburg (or later grew on the hallowed ground), each piece carries decades or centuries of silent memory.
Limited and meaningful: Because the wood is finite and uniquely tied to Gettysburg, every set feels special and thoughtfully chosen.
Perfect for history lovers and gift-givers alike: They suit collectors, Civil War buffs, history-curious friends, or anyone who appreciates handcrafted, heritage-driven pieces.
Stories Embedded in Every Box
Whether you choose a Set tied to a specific location—like the fields of the famed Bloody Wheatfield, or the woods of a lesser-known corner—each set invites the recipient to not just own history, but to carry it.
A Gift Set isn’t a souvenir: it’s a conversation starter, a family heirloom in the making, a small but powerful reminder that history lives.
How We Source Wood: Sustainably, Respectfully, Historically
At Gettysburg Sentinels, our commitment to authenticity goes beyond words—it extends to every step of how we source and use wood. Here’s how it works:
Witness Trees vs. Battlefield Trees
• Witness Trees — These are rare, old trees that were standing on the Gettysburg landscape in July 1863, witnessing the sights and sounds of battle.
• Battlefield Trees — These may have sprouted later, but they still grow on the same soil where history unfolded. They’re tied to the land’s legacy even if they didn’t personally “see” the battle.
Responsible & Legal Harvesting
We never cut standing, healthy trees for the sake of production. All wood is reclaimed, typically from trees removed by authorities for safety, preservation, or landscape maintenance.
Full Verification & Documentation
Each piece includes documentation tracing the tree’s origin, type, and its place in Gettysburg. That transparency ensures every keepsake is more than a decorative object
— it’s history, verified and honored.
Respect for History and Land
By working only with reclaimed wood, we ensure we’re not contributing to deforestation on historic land. Instead, we preserve and honor what remains, turning the inevitable removal of aged or dangerous trees into meaningful keepsakes.
When you give a Gettysburg Sentinels Gift Set, you’re not just giving a handcrafted item, you’re helping to preserve history, honor heritage, and respect the land on which that history was made.
I received the ring yesterday. It is beautiful! THANK YOU!! Having a piece of American history, especially related to Abraham Lincoln, is very meaningful to me. I am looking forward to showing off my ring and will highly recommend your products and workmanship. –Kevin
This ring from the Longstreet witness tree is a true work of art. It's a very nice piece of jewelry, the woodgrain of the old oak is beautiful, and the fact that it was made from a tree that stood witness to battle of Gettysburg makes it all the more special. I love it. You are a true craftsman. –Lynn
I received my letter opener today and am absolutely thrilled with both the product and the informational inclusions that look so important and official. This item was purchased for an 80th birthday present which incudes 80 birthday cards and notes from friends and family with the opener to be used to open these envelopes. –Anne
Thank you for such beautiful rings. After getting engaged at Sachs Bridge and having Gettysburg such a special place to us I knew we needed rings to reflect it. Finding your rings was just perfect. They are beautifully made. –Jess & Jim
