This shadowbox includes a piece of wood from of a mighty walnut tree near Spangler's Spring at the southern end of Culp's Hill where on July 2, 1863 union and confederate troops fought for 10 hours during the Battle of Spangler's Spring.  Troops from Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia not only fought over ground, but also took water from Spangler's Spring. The 8" x 8" shadowbox also includes a 2011 Commemorative Gettysburg Quarter and an authentic Union bullet.

  • The wood included in the shadowbox  is guaranteed to be from the Walnut Witness Tree that once stood on the Gettysburg Battlefield near Spangler's Spring.  The tree was legally harvested, portions of which, were secured by Gettysburg Sentinels.

All of our products include documentation related to the tree.
