South Confederate Field

These pieces are crafted from an oak tree that stood in the southern part of the Gettysburg Battlefield, where Confederate troops formed, advanced, and held positions in key areas such as Devil’s Den, the Slaughter Pen, the Rose Farm, and the Wheatfield on Day Two of the battle. As Confederate generals Hood and McLaws launched attacks against the Union’s left flank, the line held strong despite fierce fighting. Today, this keepsake preserves a tangible connection to the strategies, struggles, and stalemate of that pivotal day in Gettysburg’s history.
